- Responsible for the day-to-day, on-site supervision and care of youth crew workers (ages 18 – 24) assigned to your work team.
- Projects range from weed abatement, brush clearance, tree felling, chipping, trail building and repair, and ecological restoration.
- This position requires strong leadership skills. Supervisors should be able to relate well with youth and serve as a role model and mentor.
- This position requires hands-on, manual labor and the use of hand tools and power equipment.
Experience: At least 3 years successful work experience in a youth supervisory or leadership capacity. Previous experience with U.S. Forest Service, Parks and Recreation, CREW projects, law enforcement, firefighting or landscaping also desirable. Chain saw and weed whip experience a must. Must have a valid California driver’s license. Must have a clear Department of Justice and FBI Livescan fingerprint report.
Skills: Personal leadership skills to motivate participation and cooperation of team members from a wide variety of backgrounds. Good communications and interpersonal skills, including coaching, managing, and influencing others. Must be physically fit. The CREW requires that all employees who drive on behalf of the company, whether in company or personal vehicles, meet safe driving prerequisites.
